Time Flies!

Wow! It has been awhile since I posted on here. So much has happened in the past couple of months. The biggest was a life changing event. Where to begin................February was busy because I saw my neurosurgeon and we scheduled me for back surgery. So the rest of that month was spent getting things done around the house before the surgery. Then March 9th was the big day. I had a decompression and fusion surgery done at L5-S1 level of my lower back. I now have hardware in my back, 2 rods and 4 screws. I wear a back brace and I have a bone growth stimulator that I have to wear every day for 4 hours. I am surprised at how well I am getting around. I can drive now, but for short distances. It has been 1 month since the surgery and I feel great. Mornings are still a little rough, especially when the weather is bad, but that could be the arthritis. Heck, they had me out of bed and walking a little a few hours after the surgery. The pain!!!! Of course it didn't help that the nurses had me walking like that before I got my pain medicine. What torture! But each day I am getting better. When it is nice outside, I go for short walks. I will be out of work for a minimum of 2-3 months on up to 6 months. I can see me going back to work in a another month or so. With me being laid up I am getting a lot done, mainly for my position as a TeamWorks Member for MemoryWorks. I have gotten quite a bit of scrapbooking done using the MW Express kits and some MW products on hand. Here are a few layouts that I completed:

"Kindergarten" layout
Feb09 Express Kit layout #1a March Creative Challenge #5

"Alice in Wonderland" layout
Feb09 Express kit Layout #5

"Laugh" layout
Laugh layout March Creative Challenge #2

"X-mas 1973" layout
Photobucket

Yes, all of the photos are of me as a kid. Some are with my brother. The first two layouts were made from the MW Feb09 Express kit. The first layout obviously is from kindergarten. The second layout was from when I was Alice in Wonderland on a float in a parade. The third layout is when I was a brownie and my brother was a cub scout. You can tell it was my first year as a brownie because my uniform was big on me. And the fourth layout is from christmas of 1973 when I got my kitchen play set with the plastic food from "Santa". The third and fourth layouts were created for March's Creative Challenges on the MW message board. The third was using some papers from the MW March09 Express Kit and was made from the color palette (there were 5 colors to be used in the layout) for the challenge. The fourth layout was using some of the papers from Fancy Pants Happy Holiday collection. The layout was created for the challenge where only 5 items/products could be used to make the layout. (something shiny, cardstock, patterned paper matching eye color, something from warehouse sale, and stamp(s)--no more than 3). The challenges are fun to do. I am hosting the May challenge with another consultant so I am now busy coming up with ideas for the challenges. Well, we have the challenges figured out that we are doing and now it is getting the products and actually making a sample project for the challenge. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Well I think this is long enough for now. I had to catch you up on what has been going on since the last post. Until next time..............
Happy Scrappin'!
